Rockfish, Rockfish, Where You Been?
Round the world and back again!
It's hard to believe, almost 25 years, since 1979, when Mom & Dad sponsored a neighborhood team, all on barely a dime. Mom and Dad went paycheck to paycheck — we were never wealthy, you see. But every extra dollar that came through the house went right back out to the team.
Most mom-and-pop teams last only a year or two before they fade in the sun, but as evident today, Moe's Rockfish teams can last a lifetime and make us feel as though we are one. "Rockfish Moe" and "Bluefish Betty" — who really are they, you ask? Just two beautiful folks, the most generous people, the kind you'd find in the past.
Man, it was fun, every Friday night. They'd show up with pizza and beers. You know, come to think of it, we had our own little "Cheers" — a place where everyone knew your name, a place to relax and unwind. Moe's Rockfish HQ, as it was known. Better people, you could never find.
What is a Moe's Rockfish, who are those Moe's Rockfish? A few teams thought we were clowns, but it wasn't too long before they and the rest knew we were the "Talk of the Town." Mom and Dad were always present, through all of the good times and bad. I knew against "Holiday Bar," we had reached the big time when Bob Savoie had to calm down my Dad.
Though faces can change, and people move on, with Moe's Rockfish teams one thing's for sure: good times will be had, beer will be drunk, and friendships will always endure.
As Dad always yelled, "Rockfish, Rockfish, where have you been?" Now we can answer with pride in our hearts: around the world and back again! So let's raise our beer to Moe and Betty, my giving Mom & Dad — thanks for the memories and all that you've done, and never forget the good times we had.
